KX Patent Firm (KXIP)

The trusted partner of entrepreneurs and startups in Japan when it comes to protecting your IP

Are you looking to launch a startup in Japan? Protect your IP and increase your business value with KXIP, the one-stop shop that supports all your IP needs.

We work with local and foreign entrepreneurs, whether based inside or outside of Japan, who want to secure their intangible assets prior to launching in the domestic Japanese market.

Why work with KXIP?

Recently, we’ve seen rapidly growing demand for patent and trademark filing services in Japan from entrepreneurs and startups. While a number of IP firms now support IP filings and handle cases or prosecutions, it can be difficult for English-speaking entrepreneurs in the Japanese market to access such local IP firms, which are typically big and selective about bringing in new clients.

Based on our own experience from working in successful start-ups, enterprises and IP firms, KXIP focuses on servicing such small clients, both Japanese- and English-speaking.

Why file for patents, trademarks or IP when you haven’t launched yet?

Smart entrepreneurs consider their IP strategy early on in the development of their businesses. Why?

IP is your greatest asset

Investors are attracted to businesses with unique IP. By protecting your intangible assets with an IP filing, not only will your business value rise, you’ll also increase your potential for both raising funds and finding serious business partners.

IP is your best defense

By establishing your IP portfolio, you will build a protective wall around your business that enables you to exclusively determine how to capitalize on your concept. You’ll be able to assert your IP to prevent its use by a competitor, or to monetize from it via licensing and transfer.

Move first to secure your IP

Whoever files first wins the exclusive right to implement their technology or apply a tradename. Filing your IP after you’ve launched your business—or your competitor has already filed for a similar technology —is way too late.

That’s the value of working with KXIP

We are here to help you grow your business based on your unique IP. So feel free to knock on our door and get ahead of the game today.
